The Type "B" Equalizing Subs enable the equalization of pressure differences across a locking mandrel, ensuring its safe and proper retrieval. Additionally, they facilitate fluid bypass around the locking mandrel during its insertion into a landing nipple. To achieve equalization, both running and pulling prongs are required. These prongs raise a spring-loaded equalizing dart from its seat, enabling either fluid bypass or pressure equalization.
